Day 13-A letter to someone who has hurt you recently

Dear Bowling Ball,

My finger still hurts, it really really hurts. I know that I went bowling almost 2 weeks ago and that if I was a better bowler I wouldn't hurt myself, but nonetheless it seems unfair that my finger still hurts. So I am blaming you, stupid bowling ball, for acting like an awful Chinese finger trap.

Day 12-How you found out about blogger and why you have one

I can't remember how I found out about Blogger...so I am going to make it up. One night while I was sleeping an alien came into my bedroom etc etc etc and now I have a blog.

I have a blog mostly for me, I like to write things down. My head may be a jumbled mess but if I can write things down it makes them clearer.

Cheating

Saturday morning I was sitting in my bathroom putting on my makeup, a rare occurrence nowadays, when Marti walked in. After a minute of watching me this was the conversation we had,

Marti: "Mom that's cheating"
Mom: "What's cheating?"
Marti: "Putting on makeup is cheating"
Mom: "Why is it cheating?"
Marti: "Because you are trying to make people think you look like that when you really don't"

At this point I was laughing so hard I nearly fell off my chair. I should probably be offended, but she is pretty much right.

Day 11-Another picture of you and your friends

This is a picture of my best friend Laura and I. Apparently I need to make it a point to be in pictures every now and then, I can hardly find any pictures with adults in them.

Day 9-Something you're proud of in the past few days

Something I'm proud of.....hmmmm. It is funny to think about something I am proud of for myself, I spend most of the time being proud of things the girls do. I guess I am proud that since the holidays I have been trying to tread lightly where food is concerned and I have been doing ok (not perfect, diet coke still gets me sometimes). Also I was proud of myself for sitting with the girls to read books even though I had other stuff to do, amazing how that kind of stuff gets neglected if you are not careful. That's it for today, 9 down 21 to go.

Day 8-Short term goals for this month and when you'll accomplish them

I am bored with this challenge, so I am not going to do it. What I am going to do is show you Marti's beautiful face after she lost her first tooth last weekend....



She looks so grown up.

The tooth fairy came to our house and left Marti 5 bucks for that tooth. The next day she wanted to go to the store to buy something with her money but she was worried that Emy would feel bad because she hasn't lost a tooth yet and couldn't buy anything. So, my sweet little Marti, without any prompting from Mom and Dad, got 4 quarters out of her tooth fairy money and gave it to her sister.

They are so kind and loving to one another it leaves me in awe. I know that as parents we are supposed to set the example but I definitely fall short a lot. So there you go, without meaning to I just did the challenge, my short and long term goal is to share my tooth fairy money.
